ABOUT ME
Alexander Lovegrove
Wildlife and Natural History Art
Based in Dorset, UK
From an early age I have been fascinated with the natural world, both past and present, and sought to understand nature through my art. I work primarily as a painter in watercolour, gouache and acrylic and take a strong influence from contemporary realist painters as well as wildlife artists.
I also trained as a scientist, and completed a PhD in Ecology at Bournemouth University in 2017. My work has taken me around the world, including Ecuador, Kyrgyzstan, and mainland Europe, as well as more locally in the New Forest and Dorset.
I remain very passionate about wildlife conservation and see art as one way to reach people about the importance and diversity of the natural world.
